I have always written my astrology newsletters through the lense of the Beings behind the signs and constellations. It is why I focus more on the Nakshatra and the Deities that are the guardians of that particular area of the sky more than anything else. There are 2-3 Nakshatras per sign which means 2-3 different Beings are associated with each sign. This is divided by 10 degrees roughly. So there is a different Being associated with 2 degrees Virgo than there is at 29 degrees, even though it’s still the same sign.
When I think of the sign I don’t necessarily feel a relationship but when I bring into mind the Being behind it I automatically feel something and come into conversation with it, it’s alive. I am able to understand the essences and symbolism in a way I can’t access without it. This is probably my favorite aspect of Vedic Sidereal Astrology and the reason I was attracted to it so many years ago. This is not to say that all Vedic Astrologers relate in this way because many do not but it’s definitely my relationship with the stars. I also spend more time looking at the sky rather than astrology software as it’s alive to me and I feel connection and relationship.
Chitra Face Mask — MotherCraft
This Full Moon is occurring in the nakshatra of Chitra where my North Node (Rahu) is situated in my birth chart. It’s also the name of the Mothercraft Face Mask, click above link to read more. You can experience the Being behind that constellation through using the mask. I have a few products in the shop that you can experience different nakshatras through, Mula Face Serum, Swati Face Serum, etc. My relationship with the Stars is no different than my relationship with plants, animals and people, they are tangible to me.
Chitra rules the very end of Virgo and beginning 7 degrees of Libra. It is known as “ the star of opportunity” and is reflected by the fixed star Spica that is visible on most clear nights. Chitra means “the bright” or “ the beautiful” and is symbolized by a jewel or pearl representing the divine within us. It is a mridu nakshatra, meaning very soft in nature and is one of the most mystical nakshatras, having immense spiritual depth. The ruling planet is Mars which reflects a strong desire to explore the grotto of the soul. It’s symbol is a female tiger and it is also sometimes associated with serpents. This presents a symbol of something that is bright and beautiful but also fierce and transformative.
The deity associated with this area of the sky is Vishvakarma, the celestial architect of the universe. He is the master of Maya (illusion) and magic who created the thunderbolts of Indra and the chalice of the Moon God, Soma. He represents prosperity, longevity and regenerative power. The shakti (power) of this nakshatra is the power to accumulate merit.
We also have Venus stationing direct after her retrograde into the underworld that began on March 2nd. Her journey into the underworld is a period of introspection and transformation. It’s a time where we may have been asked to confront things in our relationships. It is a time to release old patterns and experience a rebirth. She retrogrades every other year following her synodic cycle. She will emerge as the Morning Star on April 12th on the Full Moon and she will be at her brightest on April 22nd and continue to be prominent in the sky all summer into the Fall. Look to the East low on the horizon just before Sunrise starting April 12th.
Mars has also been putting on a show with Castor and Pollux in the sign of Gemini. Last night (April 10th ) they formed a perfectly straight line. They are located high in the Southwest sky and will start to form an arc as Mars starts to progress East.
Jupiter is still bright in the West in the sign of Taurus where is been since last Spring. Right below Jupiter is the orange colored star Aldebaran and farther to the right is the Pleiades which is also visible on a clear night, known as the 7 sisters forming a cluster.
Mercury has also stationed direct this week on April 6th. Perhaps you are feeling more ease in your communications and operations. Mercury is pretty undetectable with the naked eye, along with Saturn, this week as it’s deep in the glow of the Sunrise. You may be able to catch a glimpse after this weekend with a telescope.
With the stellium of planets ( Sun, Venus, Mercury, Saturn, Rahu and Neptune) transiting the sign of Pisces we have an over abundance of Water energy permeating the cosmos. The Water Element represents our emotions, intuition and creativity etc.
Depending on the house that Pisces is situated in your birth chart you will feel this intense energy in that particular area of your life. For example if it’s your 4th house that will deal with the home, the mother and the internal emotional state of the native.
So we have many shifts occurring this month and overall I think the grip will loosen in general as we are further from the eclipses as well. If you haven’t gotten out to stargaze do yourself a huge favor and go bask in some real Beauty!!!!
All of my seeds are planted and the Nettles, Comfrey and Cleavers and bursting with life and growth so it’s time for Spring Fresh Herbal Infusions. Maybe I’m crazy but i enjoy picking nettles with bare hands and getting stung, it feels like a huge part of her medicine!!! We will be discussing these infusions and learning about their endless benefits in our upcoming workshop which you can read more about below. Hint, they are the fountain of youth and the backbone to vibrant health.
